Sewing Machine Cabinet Refinishing

It took a lot of work to refinish this old antique oak sewing machine cabinet. This is a good example of how furniture refinishing can give an old piece a new look.

There was hardly any finish left to strip. The mechanism that lifts the machine when the lid is opened was all screwed up.
The drawers were missing sides, backs, or bottoms. I sand blasted the metal stand.
Looks better after everything was stripped and cabinet was refinished.
New handles need to be ordered.
Not bad for an old wore out cabinet. Furniture refinishing is a rewarding way to save old furniture.
The new drawer pieces match so well you can't tell the new from the old. Looks original.
