Here are a few pictures of an antique dresser refinish. The mirror needed repair before the furniture refinishing could start.
Customer had broken the mirror and frame.
The frame was repaired before finish was stripped.
Frame with 3 coats of lacquer. A new mirror is being cut for frame.
Try furniture refinishing yourself and bring new life to an old piece. I stripped the dresser.
|Here it is with only 3 coats of satin lacquer.
The customer wanted the piece lighter than before.
The top had a small amount of damage from normal wear and tear for a piece this age.
Looks pretty good I think.
It still amazes me how furniture refinishing can make an old piece look better than most of the new furniture you can buy. I believe refinishing is better than replacing.
