Bath Remodeling

Remodeling a bathroom is a great way to add value to your home. Our bathroom remodel was done by repainting, adding new vinyl flooring, a new toilet, and converting an old dresser into a vanity with a new vessel sink and faucet. Check out the bathroom remodeling pictures to see what we did.
Here is the bathroom before remodeling. The walls are a cheap paneling type product that was grey and made to look like tile. My wife hated it so she painted it twice before settling on the color you see here(Valspar Gold3).

Other than the paint, the picture, shower curtain and other accessories the bathroom is how it was when we purchased the house.
The floor covering is square foot peel and stick vinyl tiles that don't stick too well and look horrible to us. The bath vanity is a cheap unit from a home inprovement store.
This cabinet in the corner serves as it should, storing towels and toiletries. The doors are ugly and I wanted to make new ones.
Here is a closer look at those ugly tiles right before we removed them.
It looks better already to us with the new vinyl flooring installed. The floor was $50.00 at the local home improvement store and was easy to install.
We also installed a new toilet that looks better than the old one and also has never had a strange heinny on it.
This was an old dresser that we picked up from a habitat store that was missing the mirror and needed refinishing. I refinished it with a red mahogany stain and polyurethane top coat.
I also modified it so the top drawer still works for storage and the bottom two drawers were removed with the drawer fronts made into cabinet doors.
You can see more on how I converted the bath vanity.
After the bathroom renovation was finished I was like a kid having to go into the bathroom to play with the new faucet. My wife joked that the water bill was going to be outrageous. Get a vessel sink cheap, also low prices on a vessel sink faucet
It looks so much better now!
I made new doors out of pine and some old 1/4 inch plywood I had and stained them to match the bathroom vanity. I also added a decorative piece at the top.
More on the cabinet doors and decorative piece.
